N.C. Department of Transportation Awards Contract for Fraud Hotline

N.C. Department of Transportation Secretary Gene Conti has awarded a contract to continue the Department’s internal fraud hotline service.
The contract was awarded to Ethical Advocate of Chapel Hill, the company that has administered NCDOT’s fraud hotline since it was initiated in 2009. The one-year contract allows for up to two additional one-year renewal periods.
The Fraud Hotline lets employees anonymously report alleged misconduct, ethical violations, safety issues or waste related to NCDOT business by phone or online. Complaints may be referred to the appropriate division for resolution and follow-up.
Using an independent third party provider for this service ensures complete anonymity for employees to report incidents, behaviors, practices or conditions that they may believe to be illegal, unethical, unsafe or otherwise detrimental to NCDOT or state business.
The Department of Transportation has approximately 12,300 permanent employees statewide.
